As a graphic or web designer, it is important for you to deliver an effective communication to your target audience through your creativity. In today’s world, if you want your business to survive, you must understand the importance of effective communication with your audience. Graphic and web designing is all linked with Internet as all your material is live and visible to everyone around the globe. If people are able to understand your designing, no matter which part of the world they belong to, it will be termed as a successfully done human-to-human designing.

Gone are the days when you did not have to update your website for years. Now, you have to update your website with every occasion so that you can maintain a good level of communication and understanding with the people around you. No matter you are designing a brochure, flyer, business card or a website or gaming portal, if you really want to make your communication design a success, you should build it on the two truths of human-to-human designing i.e. (a) Internet is an interactive medium and (b) the people you are interacting with are all humans.

Always keep in mind that whenever a person visits your website or goes through your print design, it should be an enjoyable experience for him and the kind of experience that will make him come back again. In other words, the basic aim of human-to-human designing is call-to-action. If you are unable to communicate your message effectively, you have failed in making an effective communication through your design and there is no success regarding human-to-human designing.

However, in this post, I will refer to my fellow web designers and address human-to-human ‘web’ designing. Following are a few points which will help you in designing a website keeping in view the phenomena of human-to-human designing, in order to connect with your target audience well:

Learn to Respect Your Visitors

While designing a website, one thing that you should always keep in mind is that the person visiting your website is a human being and he is capable of understanding everything. Your website should be designed in a way so that they can understand your business and relate to it. Always keep in mind that websites are designed to connect with the audience and it should serve its purpose.

If you really want to connect with your audience, the first thing that you need to do is understand them and then design your website keeping your target audience in mind. It is very easy to understand such situations. In personal life, if you want to get along with someone, you will prefer listening to them first, their likings and disliking. Later on, you will try to mold your conversation to the topics which the other person might find interesting. Same goes for your visitors. You must take out time to understand the people who would be visiting your website and then design it so that they can understand your message.

If you are able to close the gap between yourself and audience, you have proven yourself as a successful designer.

Create a Story

Involving your visitor in your website is the most important thing to be done. A designer should be capable of coming up with a design which depicts a story for the visitor and it should be understandable. Be creative but only to the extent where your audience can connect with you. Always keep in mind that your audience should be able to relate to your website. Also, your website should be competent enough to meet the new and developing changes. For instance, if you are designing a news website, you should design it in a way that people can easily understand the news.

Nowadays, no one has enough time to sit and go through the entire story. Make sure you incorporate story with pictures so that audience can understand the story without having to read a long text. Keep your website updated with new elements to give the audience a broader and deeper understanding of your product.

Engage Your Audience

As a designer, you should have the capability of engaging your audience. Your website should be designed in a way which would make a visitor stay on your website and scroll through various pages. Make sure you have combined visual designs with interaction and motion. A visitor will leave your website page if it is dull and boring apparently. It does not matter if it consists of the most effective text.

You have to make an effort to make the user stay in order to read that text and you can only make him stay with a beautiful website and where navigation is simple and easy. Remember, the most important thing is the satisfaction of your audience. If you are able to keep your audience satisfied, your website can do wonders for you in real life.

Create an Inspiration

If you are one of those who think that a web design should be all about branding, then you need to think again. You will find a lot of graphic designers and web designers who will design the website in a way where the visual identity of the brand is applied all over the website for instance, colors, typography and logo of the brand are used all over.

There is nothing wrong in that but your website should be able to deliver a lot more to the visitor then expected. Your website should inspire them. See, if they are visiting your website, they obviously know your brand a little bit or they have been using it for sometime now. So, your website should be an ideal way to reinforce your product.

Your website can be the most effective way of communicating with your audience. Instead of mimicking your identity on your website, you can do a lot more. Tell your audience what they might not be aware of regarding your brand. This is one of the greatest ways to bring your brand to life all over again.

The Beauty of Design

It is always said that beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. However, the fact remains that everyone in this world is drawn towards beauty. As a designer, it is your duty to come up with a design which is exceptionally well. Your website should be able to give the perfect impression and if a user finds it beautiful, they will automatically think that the website’s navigation is quite easy even if it is not. While designing a website, you need to understand the human psyche.

Writing style is one of the most important things while designing a website. Correct selection of text, font, and spacing is very important. While designing a website, always keep in mind user’s perspective. You will be able to come up with a design which your audience would be able to relate to and that is the most important thing.

A Review

While designing any communication material, a designer should not only think from creative point of view but should also consider its usability and user experience. Even the most creative piece of communication can fail if the audience is unable to understand it. A designer, especially a web design artist, should understand the concept of human-to-human designing if he seeks success in his work.

Your audience should feel that you are treating them like a human beings and not some lifeless computer at the other end of the website. Your website should be simple, clear and at the end of the day it should satisfy your visitors, because that is what it is all about. Human-to-human designing will make your audience feel more special, secure and will end up in stronger brand loyalty.

Human-to-human is the best way to connect with them. So, create a website which is beautiful, user friendly and should be able to float your message ahead with creativity and elegance.
